Our Story

AmericaDIY is an e-commerce platform that connects vendors selling landscaping products and bulk raw materials directly to buyers in their local community. Instead of cutting out the little guys, we cut out the national retailers, so the money and the mulch stay right here in the community. Hurray for local!

We started AmericaDIY to help connect local businesses with local customers.

At the time, we had our own product we sold locally. To make ordering easier, we simply designed an app. Soon enough, it was developed to the point that landscape contractors and suppliers could use to order our supplies. For example, someone in Pennsylvania looking for mulch delivery could download the app and place an order with us. We kicked it off in our local area and it exploded! Soon, we were receiving orders nationally.

Based on the hugely positive response we received from our customers, we determined it would be useful to create a simple, secure platform available to other businesses in our industry. A lot of folks in the landscaping space don’t have the expertise or desire to develop an online shop themselves. So, we took it upon ourselves to make a universal platform everyone could benefit from.

AmericaDIY was created to help business owners in the landscaping industry connect with customers in an intelligent way. As landscape business owners ourselves, we saw how handy an app could be to make ordering swift and efficient, ultimately leading to much more business.

AmericaDIY is a father-son team! We first began by writing the code for the website. From there, we tested out the idea with some of our customers, including a landscape supplier and contractor. It was a lot of gathering feedback and assessing the viability of AmericaDIY as a platform. We spent over a year tirelessly developing the website and app, and finally we launched the brand!

AmericaDIY is a father-son team and a family business from the get-go. Joe, the son, has spent years working in the landscaping industry from selling mulch on the ground to building relationships with suppliers around the Central California Coast. Beyond his hands-on experience in the industry, Joe also knows a thing or two about web platform development.

He leveraged his technical knowledge to build the very platform perfected today. Joe's biggest goal for AmericaDIY is to give local landscape supply companies a platform to compete with national brands.

Steve is the father and the other half of the father-son team. He’s no newcomer to running a demanding business himself. In 1992, he bought out Bedford Recycling, a business that was on the verge of closing. Through hard work and the belief that there was still promise in an industry so many left behind, Steve led Bedford to newfound profits 52 times larger than what the company had seen in previous years.

Steve proved his worth as a jack of all trades from driving trucks to creating contract proposals, even writing code for the company. He worked alongside the staff and with customers to help solve problems from the top down.

Through co-founding AmericaDIY, Steve aims to equip people in the industry with an essential tool for success. To him, it’s not about the money, but rather establishing a brand that makes a difference and brings technology to an industry in dire need of it. Steve is most excited to have launched a product that’s never been done before, and has the potential to make waves in the industry and help countless people.

We built AmericaDIY for everyone in the landscaping and materials industry.

AmericaDIY means grassroots America. It means bringing business back to the little guys and keeping local companies running strong. AmericaDIY was built by real, hard-working people and it was made for real, hard-working people.

The problem is simple: customers don’t know vendors exist in their area. Even worse, they don’t know if potential vendors have specific raw materials. A lot of customers are a bit intimidated to step onto an industrial yard—and we don’t blame them. It’s a whole different world. We provide a clear, seamless experience with contactless ordering.

On the vendor side, we cut out inefficient phone calls, scribbling down bulk orders, and dealing with decentralized business transactions. Our platform makes it easier than ever for the customer to shop based on material needs and for the vendor to fulfill the customer request .

We’re keeping the money and the mulch in the local community. No overseas business necessary.

No, AmericaDIY passes in-store prices directly to the customer.

During checkout, you are able to select a suggested delivery date and time. After the order is submitted, the vendor will approve the date/time and send you an email confirmation. If the vendor is unable to meet your suggested delivery date/time, AmericaDIY will contact you via email to set up a new delivery date.

To change your delivery date/time, please contact the vendor using the information on your order confirmation email.
